1. Get Outside
Ok we’re starting petty vague but this one is the most important. Even if you only read this far then make sure you simply get outside and make the most of the beautiful surroundings in St Anton. Go for a hike around Verwall or just take an evening stroll down the river to Pettneu. Get outside and enjoy some fresh mountain air.
2. Hire an E-bike
E-Bike’s are amazing. They are taking over and they are making the mountains so much more accessible. Sign on to an E-bike tour or hire a bike and follow one of the many well sign-posted routes. Our personal favourite is the ride to Damstadter Hutte which starts by Rendl lift station.
3. Swim in Mainsee
The summer days in St Anton can get really hot. Why not cool off in one the beautiful mountain lakes that is Mainsee. Situated above St Christoph and accessible via a hike from St Anton or get the bus to St Christoph and take a short hike up to this tranquil sunbathing spot.
4. Take on the High Ropes
Feeling adventurous? Head down to Verwall and challenge yourself at new heights. Swing between the trees and relive your childhood. Perfect activity for families and the young at heart.
5. Fly like a bird
High ropes not enough of an adrenaline rush for you? Fly through the valley on a paraglider and see St Anton from a new perspective.
6. White Water Rafting
Staying with an adventurous theme take on the rush of the river in a raft or go it alone in a kayak.
7. Austrian Tradition
Check out the St Anton local events and get along to experience a traditional festival. With Dorffest in mid July, Zeltfest in August and even a local band playing in the square every Tuesday there’s plenty of opportunity to experience some Austrian tradition.
8. Local cuisine
It would be rude to come all the way to Austria and not try some of the local cuisine. Tuck into a Tyrolean Grostl, enjoy some apple strudel after a long walk and wash it all down with an Aperol Spritz.
9. Sunrise Hike
It calls for an early start but the views are spectacular. Set your alarm, and take a hike up Galzig in the early morning to watch the sunrise through the valley. The shadows of the mountains against the colours of the sky make for an unforgettable morning. Head back down into town in time for breakfast.
10. Day Trip to Lech
If you’ve ticked all the boxes above and still fancy something a little different, take a day trip to Lech on the bus and visit another beautiful town in the valley of the Arlberg. Keep an eye on our website for Top 10 Things to do in Lech this summer.
